Terror Challenge

How it works

On Friday October 12th, 2018 at 6:00pm MST, teams will gather to compete in the Terror Challenge! All teams (represented by at least 1 team member each) will be meeting at Vern's (622 8Ave SW, Calgary) for registration (if they have not already done so), attend a Q&A session, and participate in the Element Swap. Teams will also receive a sealed envelope with additional random elements to be used in their film. These elements can include but are not limited to: sub-genre, prop, line of dialogue, character, style, etc.

At exactly 7:00pm MST teams will be allowed to open their sealed envelope and this will mark the start of the Terror Challenge. Teams will have 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit their 2-7 minute short horror movie that incorporates all of the elements (e.g. a color, a prop, etc.) that they have received. All movies must be submitted no later than 7:00pm MST on October 14th, 2018.

Then on Saturday October 20th, 2018 at 9:00pm MST, each team that completes the Terror Challenge will have their film shown to the public and judged by the Terror Challenge's panel of judges at the Globe Cinema (617 8 Avenue Southwest, Calgary). Prizes will be awarded to the 1st Place, 2nd Place, and Audience's Choice winners.
